Stacy Slinkard of About.com recently reviewed the 2008 Four Vines “The Maverick” Zinfandel.

Slinkard has this to say about this red zinfandel wine:

This is a spunky, fun-filled wine with generous fruit - largely raspberry, cherry and blackberry character laced with bits of black licorice and wraps up with an enticing vanilla bean-driven finish.
