Dan Berger of the Press Democrat recently featured the evolution of California zinfandel. One of the zinfandels featured by Berger was the 2009 Rodney Strong Knotty Vines Northern Sonoma Zinfandel.
Berger has this to say about this red wine:
This excellent-value Zin offers bright blackberry and brambly ripe notes of cherry and jam. The wine has 15% alcohol, but good balance and works well with rustic foods.
